Christy Finnegan – Executive Director

Christy Finnegan became the Executive Director of Arbor House in January 2010. As the new Director, she is thrilled to work with Arbor House.  Gwen Gadaire, the previous director graciously served the women in our community for years by sustaining and growing Arbor House to its present level.  Christy continues Gwen’s legacy and readily undertakes the challenges of carrying Arbor House forward!  Her family has lived in Gainesville since 1972. Christy is a HUGE Gator fan and holds a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Florida.  She is the proud parent of two grown children and has three beautiful grandchildren.  Christy comes from a career of banking including Branch Manager of a local RBC Bank.  She reached a point where she wanted to serve people in a meaningful way and along came Arbor House!  Christy fell in love with Arbor House right away and hasn’t looked back!

Miriam Welly Elliott – Program Coordinator

Miriam oversees the Arbor House programs as well as provides social work services to the residents. Miriam came to Arbor House in 2006 after 15 years as case manager at St Francis House and is also actively involved in the Alachua County Homeless Coalition.  She is wonderful resource and guide to the women.
